Familiar Space
Monday, August 1st, 2011Well, I’ve been meaning to come back here because I miss blogging. However, it took a blogger from my early blogging days to get me back here. Beginning today, I will post at least one blog post right here for the next 30 days. I know, so very exciting for all of you who have been breathlessly anticipating my next post. OK, I know…it’s none of you and that’s just fine.
As many of the bloggers I used to follow and used to follow me have said, it gets harder to blog the more that people that know you publicly begin reading your blog. I used to blog to an audience of people who didn’t know me as a sibling, or a daughter, or that girl from high school. I was just kind of a voice out there in Web space. Better search tools (hail to the Google!) and the popularization of social media (yeah, you Facebook) made it so that the internet was no longer the place I looked to just be me. I had a public image to protect (in the most general sense) and all that.
Still I have a lot going on right now that I can unload about full-fledged in the light of day. Mostly personal blogging as that is how I’ve always rolled. More tomorrow. Promise.

This isn’t really a post about technology. Yet, part of why I’m where I am today is because I one day realized that life didn’t need to be about fitting into molds. It’s not all about getting a job with good benefits. It’s not all about being a cog in someone’s factory.
